2009 NBA Mock Draft

Soon we will be starting the 2009 NBA Mock Draft. It is similar to the All Time Mock Draft that we did this summer, but this time we only use current players. Even if you are not involved in this, I encourage you to follow along and vote in the matchups when we start them. Here is everything you need to know about the 2009 NBA Mock Draft right now:

Official Rules for 2009 NBA Mock Draft:

1. Draft will be a snake style draft (1st Roud: 1 to 16 2nd Round: 16 to 1 etc.)

2. No draft pick trading

3. 8 hour time limit for each pick (you can leave a list of choices with someone if you dont' think you will be able to make your pick on time)

4. 10-man rosters (10 rounds of drafting)

5. Only current players that are on an NBA roster can be picked and will be judged based upon how good they are currently not the future or past

6. Injuries don't count; pretend all players are at full health

7. There will be gameplan deadlines and restrictions:
a) Gameplans are not allowed to be over 1000 words
b) If gameplans don't get turned by the date I set, you will forfeit the matchup
c) If both teams don't turn in gameplans, I will put up both team's official rosters and we will vote off them alone

8. Divisions are choosen at random for first part of pool play. The second round of pool play and tournament seedings will be set up in this system. After we play 3 games (everyone plays everyone in their division once), then we will use this system:

Division A:

1st place in North Division
1st place in South Division
1st place in East Division
1st place in West Division

Division B:

2nd place in North Division
2nd place in South Division
2nd place in East Division
2nd place in West Division

Division C:

3rd place in North Division
3rd place in South Division
3rd place in East Division
3rd place in West Division

Division D:

4th place in North Division
4th place in South Division
4th place in East Division
4th place in West Division

Tourney seeding: Division A - 1st-4th Division B - 5th-8th Division C - 9th-12th Division D - 13th-16th

9. There will be 3 rounds of trading/add-drop sessions throughout the seasons:
a) directly after the draft is over
b) directly after 1st round of pool play is over
c) right before the tournament starts
Trading Rules:
a) no more than 5 players can be traded during each session
b) a maximum of 2 trades will be allowed per each session
Add-Drop Rules:
a) you can only add-drop twice for each session
b) you can add someone who was dropped (but I'll keep a close on eye out for cheating; like trying to do another trade through add-drop)
c) the add-drop order will be determined by reverse order of ranking

10. NO CHEATING IS ALLOWED AND WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. That means no voting for yourself on any accounts you have (in case you don't understand). Cheating will result in an automatic loss and removal from league.
